I could let you download a copy of portal that doesn't need steam.. if you wanted to go that route anyhow..

Phelan does not have to pay anything to see if his POL account is O.K. The POL system account is the same password based access as FFXI, but you do NOT have to activate content IDs (of FFXI installed for that matter) to log into it. If hPhelan can do that, I suspect he's just fine. Also, POL records...

You don't lose your character after 3 months anymore. At least I didn't. I've reactivated mine more than once from beyond a 3-month deactivation. You don't even have to do anything different to get it back after 3 months.
